Beginning of a New Era?

Indian fans have longed for that elusive world cup victory for long enough. First it was Sri Lanka on a dusty bowl and then Australia (what they did to us cannot be described in a cultured language). It's been said for long enough that what we lack is killer punch, it's an attitude problem and not a talent one. John Wright has tried to change that slightly over his tenure, where we re-learnt the meaning of making winning a habit. But as in the past, it seems that amnesia has struck once again....I guess it's the time for a dose. My first suggestion for the BCCI was to give the coach's job to David Blaine, but it seems they like doing it the conventional way...they got Greg Chappel.
Chappel's selection as the coach has been welcomed from all nook and corners in India, and I must say that out of the candidates he was my favourite too. The only Indian in the race, unfortunately was too weak for the job. He has been a tremendous cricketer in his time, but he must realize that the times have changed now and a coach who shuns technology is "so yesterday". Add to that frivolous comments like "if you are obsessed with white skin, I'll put on fair and lovely", and it paints a sorry picture of the affairs. But we must understand that in the era of outsourcing, where we nearly managed to outsource the PM's post, the coach of an Indian team is not that big a deal. It's about professionalism and I think that is where Aussies rock.
Lets hope this marks the beginning of a new and better time for Indian cricket, a time where fans dont have to wait for 10 years for an overseas series victory, a time when the world cup finally lands here!
(I know I am an optimist...but I prefer calling it positive thinking)

U forgot the fact the only Indian for the post spent 2.5 hrs coz he couldnt figure out how to use powerpoint from his laptop. How can he be expected to use technology productively and provide creative inputs if he needs his brother to be in place to handle his laptop and the presentation on it.
